A pastor in his native Colombia, Jaramillo Cardenas currently directs the Hispanic Ministries of the International Bible Society in Miami. In an unconventional approach to leadership, he shows readers how to apply basic biblical leadership skills, as portrayed in the life of Christ, to their careers. The author describes Jesus as the ultimate executive, able to form a close-knit team that followed his vision and goals and to build an enterprise, Christian faith, that has lasted over 2,000 years. Unlike a secular approach to team building and leadership, Jaramillo Cardenas's book emphasizes Jesus' ability to inspire his peers instead of coercing them to submit to his authority. Servitude and humankind were always held higher than his personal objectives. At the same time, however, Jesus never displayed low self-esteem or insecurity. Quoting from the Bible, Jaramillo Cardenas confirms that, in fact, it was Jesus' self-confidence that enabled him to serve his followers. This easy-to-read book will appeal to Christian Hispanics, evangelical or not, seeking an original and inspirational guide to improving their leadership skills. Recommended for bookstores and public libraries with a Spanish-language religious section. Lillian McAnally, Orlando, FL

Contraportada

Many have written about Jesus as a preacher, teacher and dramatist and other important aspects of His personality. Not too many have discovered that He was a chief executive and administrative leader who knew how to recruit, inspire, motivate and guide a team of twelve men, based on His influence in accordance to God's plans. They conquered the world for His cause. Jesus' characteristics and management skills can be an example to directors, administrators, and leaders of any company. Jesus' characteristics as a executive can be useful in today's companies, organizations or businesses. The techniques are as useful today as they were in the past. In the twenty chapters of this book, Dr. Luciano Jaramillo Cardenas studies some of these aspects of the personality of Christ as an administrator and executive. This book is very helpful for any person that is in a position as director or supervisor in any industry, organization or business, including of course, the church and institutions that serve God.
